Selected images of the lumion model that show the concepts behind the design.
1) This is an overall capture of the design. It includes a circular section that surrounds a rock that juts up through the school. That is the first moving part that rotates to give the users of the cafe a view of all aspects of the design and surrounding environment. This section contains seating for the nearby cafe that rotates around the large rock that juts up through the design. The rotation of this element of the design means that as the users sit and enjoy their purchases of the cafe their views slowly change allowing you to take in all aspects of the surrounding environment.
2) The second custom texture that has been used in the design on one of the walls of the folly in the valley floor. This image not only shows the context of the custom texture but also the context and shape of the folly.
3) This image shows the side of the building. The supports can clearly be seen as well as both the natural waterfall and the artificial one that falls from the design. This image also shows the vegetation of the design the extends from the ground on the left onto the bridge enforcing the intertwining of the natural and built environments as per the over all theory.
4) The artificial stream of water collected from the waterfall that winds through the design. The first of the custom textures has been used as the base of the stream to provide a unique base.
5) The first of the moving elements in the elevator that takes students and staff down behind the artificial waterfall to the boat that shuttles to the folly. The waterfall side of the elevator is made of glass so that as it moves down the relative speed of the falling water slows. This gives the user a prolonged experience to the nature of a waterfall and encourages them to consider the natural features of the surrounding environment.
