MASHUP
Aims to
give the user a quiet peaceful place where they may not only view the landscape
but somehow reflect upon it and introspect in the site. The entire complex is a three-dimensional space in which
buildings on the ground, under the ground and over the ground are fused
together. A series of
stacked planes moulded with rounded edges, mirrors the surrounding topography
to become an almost indiscernible mesh between the natural and the man-made. (This design is) more "organic" and which thus
seemed to be more engaged with their surroundings while remaining, never
based on realism but rather, the imagination. The
design incorporates broad expanses of windows and the balconies are off main
rooms giving a sense of the closeness of the surroundings. Gardens offer tranquil green spaces that promote harmony between man and nature through a design
so well integrated with its site that buildings, furnishings, and surroundings
become part of a unified, interrelated composition.
In my own words: The theory involves the interaction between the natural and built environment in both a physical and symbolic sense. This will be used to create a design that is so tightly woven with the nature that surrounds it that it becomes inseparable.
